About Us
There is very little time to get organized when political and legislative issues arise which affect our businesses. To be effective and prudent, we have to be organized and ready for action well before it is needed. There is just too much at stake to respond to these issues from a "standing start". The State Farm Agents & Associates of Maryland Political Action Committee (SFAAMD PAC) has been created to monitor and address issues relevant to our businesses. As you may know, "State Farm Agent PACs" have been created in many other states with impressive results.
The business environment of State Farm Agents and Associates in Maryland is currently healthy. However, things can happen quickly in state legislatures that could cause that to change. As you know, insurance companies and agencies operate at the pleasure and discretion of the the state(s) in which they operate.
Below are some examples of "relevant issues" referred to above. There are many more that could arise.
--Rate Changes
--Territory Changes
--Compensation Structures
--Required Forms and Signatures
--Mandated coverage(s)
--CE Requirements for Agents and Associates
--Licensing Requirements for Agents and Associates
--Bank Issues
--Mortgage Issues
--Financial Services Issues
